Random fact of the day: my favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. So it's no surprise that anything mint colour makes me immediately happy... or makes me salivate. So I've rounded up some favorites and I'll try not to drool too much.

Cake Plates
This past weekend I made a cake from scratch for the very first time in my life. It was something I had on my bucket list and I'm really proud of myself! This was no plain-Jane vanilla cake - this was red velvet with brown sugar cream cheese frosting! Aside from every inch of me being covered in red (!) it was really easy. One thing I should have thought through was the cake plate. I figured I'd be fine and didn't need anything flashy - but once I finished my masterpiece I wished I'd had something just as grand to showcase it on. Here's some I would have loved to have:
1. Jadeite Cake Plate
2. Red Cake Plate
3. Juliska "Berry & Thread" Small Cake Stand, Ice Blue
4. Emma Cake Stand
5. Vintage Fenton milk glass cake stand
6. Rosanna Rococo Black Cake Stand
7. Porcelain Doily Cake Plate
8. Signature Now & Then Olive Cake Stand

Hung up on...
Hello Monday! I had such a lovely weekend that the high has carried onto Monday. It started with a dash of relaxation, a cup of being productive, a handful of great friends, equal parts outdoor fun in the sun, mixed with amazing food and some celebrating for good measure! (I baked this weekend so the lingo is still in my head). Some other things making me smile today are:
The Red Velvet birthday cake I made from scratch!
Hazy warm days and green grass at the park
Decorative Streamers
Impromptu dinner dates
Brunch on Bellevue
Happy Monday!

Pastels
Pastels are a signature colour of spring. The soft, faint colours feel light and airy after heavy, dark fabrics of winter - and honestly they make me think of Cadbury Mini Eggs so I'm immediately drawn to them. I've rounded some beautiful soft pieces that I'd love to have in my life this spring:
1. Freya Set - Anthropologie $37.00, $57.00
2. Tutaj - Aldo $90.00
3. Court Show with Metal Toe - Zara $109.00
4. Ruffled Chiffon Camis - Old Navy $26.94
5. Rose Skinny Jeans - Gap $79.95
6. Jersey Blazer - Zara $79.90
7. Embellished Sleeve vest - Topshop £35.00
8. St Lucia Lilac by Essie $11.00
9. Ziggy Chair - Urban Outfitters $279.00
10. Dress with Double Layer - Zara $99.90

Spring Basics
Blouse: Old Navy, Necklace: J. Crew (via eBay), Jeans: Gap,
Flats & Bracelet: Joe Fresh, Watch: Fossil
I'm breaking out my uniform for spring: a light, sheer
blouse, skinny jeans, flats and a pop of colour. I love simple, basic outfits
that aren't too fussy and don't require any thought. I also love that I've been
able to wear flats for the past two weeks - no more boots and socks for this
girl! Happy Spring!

What's New: Turquoise Necklace
Just received this lovely little gem in the mail last night. I was obsessed with this necklace when I first saw it on the J.Crew website but the $175.00 price tag threw me off. Enter eBay! I found it there for just $40 and although the shipping took almost two months I'm so happy with it. I love how it adds a pop of colour to any outfit and how it can take a plain top and transform it with visual interest.
